Office
I.f positions architecture as a field of operations rather than a finished form. Architecture is understood not as an object, but as a process shaped by conditions, decisions, and time. The name I.f functions as a proposition: if as conditional logic, and in form, in formation, in formed as states through which architecture moves. Design remains open, provisional, and contingent. Founded in 2016 with roots in New York and Manila, I.f established its Seoul Office in 2023, extending its practice across different cultural and operational contexts. Each project begins not with form, but with conditions. Form appears only as a consequence—produced through alignment, negotiation, and recalibration between context, program, construction, and use. I.f designs the process through which architecture comes into form. Planning, design, fabrication, and construction are not sequential stages but overlapping territories. Technology operates within this overlap without authorship: it exposes consequences, accelerates testing, and sharpens judgment. I.f does not pursue stylistic consistency. Each work constructs its own logic. Architecture, in this sense, is never complete. It remains permanently in formation.
